Privacy Policy

Mat Manual ("we," "us") runs matmanual.com and the Mat Manual tools (the Curriculum Builder, the Training Journal, and the Training Timer). This policy says what information we collect, why, and what you can do about it. It is written to match what our systems actually do. If a practice described here ever changes, this page changes in the same release.
What we collect
Reading the website. The articles, guides, and pages on matmanual.com are public. We do not run advertising trackers or analytics cookies, and we do not ask you for personal information to read.
Accounts. The Curriculum Builder and the Training Journal let you create an account with an email address and a password. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider (Supabase) and are never visible to us in plain text. We store your email address and whether your account is on the Free or Pro plan.
The content you store. If you use the tools while signed in, the material you create is stored so it can sync to you: curricula and lesson plans in the Curriculum Builder; training entries, ranks, tournament records, and settings in the Training Journal. This content belongs to you. Access to it is protected account by account, and we do not read it except to operate the service or to help you with a problem you report.
On your device. The Training Journal also keeps a local copy of your data in your browser so it works offline. The Training Timer has no accounts at all: your settings stay in your browser and nothing is sent to us. Clearing your browser storage deletes this local data.
Share links. The Training Journal lets account holders create a read-only link to their journal for a coach. Anyone who has the link can view what it points to. Creating a link is your choice; deleting the link ends that access.
Purchases. Guide purchasing is not open yet. When it opens, payments will be processed by Stripe, which means Stripe receives your payment details — we never receive or store your full card number. This policy will be updated before purchasing opens.
What we do not do
- We do not sell personal information.
- We do not use advertising trackers or build advertising profiles.
- We do not send marketing email. (If that ever changes, it will be
opt-in only, and this page will say so first.)
Who processes data for us
- Supabase — accounts and the content you store in the tools.
- Vercel — website and tool hosting.
- Google Fonts — the typefaces on our pages load from Google,
which means your browser contacts Google's font servers.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us at any time to show you the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Deleting your account deletes your stored tool content as well. To make a request, email thematmanual@gmail.com. We answer requests within 30 days.
Depending on where you live, privacy law (for example GDPR or California law) may give you additional rights, including the right to complain to your local regulator. We honour those rights as they apply.
Children
Mat Manual is intended for people aged 13 and over. Students under 18 should train, and use these tools, with a parent or guardian's involvement. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13; if you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
Accounts are separated using database-level access rules, so one account cannot read another's stored content. Even so, no online service can promise perfect security. Use a strong, unique password for your account.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, the new version is posted here with a new date at the top. Material changes to how data is handled will also be noted on the site.
