By using matmanual.com or the Mat Manual tools (the Curriculum Builder, the Training Journal, and the Training Timer), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or the tools.

What Mat Manual is

Mat Manual publishes martial arts instruction: articles, printable training guides, and training tools. The content is educational. It is written to support training under qualified instruction, not to replace it. Read the Disclaimer as part of these terms: martial arts training carries a risk of injury, and you are responsible for how you train.

Accounts

Some tools let you create an account. You are responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping your password private. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account; if you are under 18, a parent or guardian should be involved. Give accurate information when you sign up, and tell us if you believe your account has been used by someone else.

Free and Pro

The tools offer a Free tier with stated limits and a Pro tier that relaxes those limits. The limits in the apps themselves are the authoritative description. Paid upgrades are not available for purchase yet; when they open, the price and what it includes will be shown in full before any payment is taken, and these terms will be updated with the purchase, renewal, and refund terms at that time. Guide purchasing will likewise show its full price before payment. We do not use countdown timers, false scarcity, or other pressure tactics, and we never will.

Your content

What you create and store in the tools (curricula, journal entries, records) is yours. You give us only the permission needed to store it, show it back to you, and — if you create a share link — show it to the people who hold that link. We claim no ownership of your content.

Our content

Articles, guides, and the design of this site are © Mat Manual unless stated otherwise. You may read and print guides you have legitimately obtained for your own training. You may not resell, republish, or redistribute our guides or articles, in whole or in part, without written permission. Schools and instructors who want to license material should contact us — licensed arrangements exist.

Acceptable use

Do not use the site or tools to break the law, to attempt to access another person's account or data, to disrupt the service, or to upload content you do not have the right to use. We may suspend accounts that do any of these things.

Availability and changes

We work to keep the tools available and your data intact, but the service is provided "as is," without guarantees of uninterrupted availability. The Training Journal's built-in export and backup features are there so you can always keep your own copy of your training record, and we encourage you to use them. We may change features over time; material changes to these terms will be posted here with a new date.

Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Mat Manual is not liable for injuries or losses arising from how you use the training information on this site, or for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the tools. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, USA.
